Taking it to the Stage

Jubilee is honored to be a part of The Seattle Repertory Theatre’s new Public Works Seattle initiative, a city-wide effort to not only make theatre for our community, but also with our community.

Public Works Seattle engages people from every walk of life to participate in workshops, attend plays, and ultimately come together to create a large-scale production in September 2017, with 100+ participants from Jubilee, Boys & Girls Clubs of King County, Path with Art, Centerstone, and Sound Generations.

Seattle Rep staff work with Jubilee residents and alumni at monthly, on-site acting classes that explore improv, the spoken word, musical theatre, and Shakespeare. Participants also take field trips to the Rep where they enjoy dinner, see a play, and discuss the performance.
