Jubilee relies on the generous contributions of our community to make our work possible. Individuals, corporate partners, and foundations provide 100% of our funding and significant gifts of in-kind goods and services.
There are many ways to give to Jubilee and your donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Write a check payable to Jubilee Women’s Center and mail it to:
Jubilee Women’s Center
620 18th Avenue East
Seattle, WA 98112
You may be able to increase your contribution with a corporate match from your employer. See your human resources department to learn if your company offers this benefit. Retired employees are frequently eligible as well.
Donate in honor or in memory of someone. Please specify this in the designated space when making your online donation, or include a note with your check if you are mailing a donation. If you would like us to send a card to someone special to commemorate your gift, please contact us.
Secure a safe place for women to heal and rebuild their lives as they work toward living-wage employment and self-sufficiency. Show your ongoing commitment to helping women move past homelessness with a monthly contribution to Jubilee Women’s Center. As a Monthly Impact Circle member, we’ll send you regular updates so you know how your recurring contribution is making a difference for Jubilee residents and other low-income women in the community.
Your monthly gift (of any amount!) supports these and other programs that empower Jubilee women to build stable and fulfilling futures:
Case Management & Advocacy
Life Skills & Communications Classes
Money Management
Computer Skills Training
Interviewing Essentials
Free Clothing Boutique
Pathways to Housing
If you have in-season, consignment-quality, women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories you no longer need, we can give them new life. Jubilee operates a free boutique for residents, alumnae and other low-income women in the community who would otherwise be unable to afford quality items. Clothing you donate becomes interview attire, a new job wardrobe, fitness-enabling athletic wear, a special event ensemble, or confidence-inspiring everyday pieces.
We accept donations at our main site on Capitol Hill during regular business hours. Please note, we are unable to take donations of men’s or children’s clothing, household items, books, electronics, furnishings, etc., unless specifically requested on our wish list. Women’s clothing donations that exceed our needs and storage capacity will be shared with community partners.
Your donations of wish list items help us maintain our residences, provide basic necessities for residents, and furnish private rooms for new program participants.
Currently, Jubilee residents and households would be grateful to receive the following:
Silverware, plates and dish sets
New bedding and pillows (standard twin size)
Toilet paper, facial tissues and wipes
Laundry detergent for HE washers
Lawncare equipment (gloves, shovels, rakes)
USB sticks/flash drives
Grocery and drug store gift cards
Pantry items (shelf stable and not expired)
ORCA cards in any amount
Pots, pans and pitchers
Blenders and electric tea kettles
Bath towels, hand towels and sponges
Garbage bags and biobags (all sizes)
Gardening supplies (spades, seeds, flowers, starter plants)
New razors and deodorant
Plus size clothing
New umbrellas
Bus passes
We accept donations at our main site in Capitol Hill during regular business hours. If you have questions about whether Jubilee can use an item, please contact us before dropping it off.
BUSINESS HOURS
Monday – Thursday: 9am – 5pm
Friday: 9am – 4pm
You can also find Jubilee Wish List items on Amazon and have them shipped directly to Jubilee.
Consider visiting Amazon Smile and choosing Jubilee Women’s Center as your organization to support. A portion of everything you purchase will be donated to help women build a stable and fulfilling future!
We see drives and fundraising events as more than just collecting resources; they also bring people together. Hosting a drive or fundraiser is a wonderful way to engage your community — such as colleagues, a professional association, sorority or fraternity, neighborhood group, school, faith community, social club, family, or friends.
Below are some ideas to get you started:
Ask peers to bring items from Jubilee’s Wish List as “admission” to a social gathering, association meeting, etc.
Host a virtual benefit where each person purchases an item from the Amazon Wish List and sent directly to Jubilee.
Bake sales, lemonade stands, and car washes are good, old-fashioned fundraisers that suit a range of ages.
Host a brunch, cocktail, or dinner party and ask guests for a “suggested donation” to benefit Jubilee.
Clean out your stuff and raise money for a good cause with a yard sale.
Set up a personal fundraising page or Facebook fundraiser to benefit Jubilee, and tell your contacts why this cause is important to you.
Toilet paper drives are a hit with students!
Give instead of gift: Ask for donations to Jubilee in your honor instead of gifts for holidays, birthdays, weddings, etc.
Bra drives are popular with women who don’t get embarrassed easily. Contact us for the most needed sizes.
Ask co-workers to bring in gently-worn women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories for Jubilee’s free boutique and help a low-income woman build a quality work wardrobe.
Donate your car, truck, RV, boat, motorcycle, or other vehicle and support women at Jubilee. To donate, contact our vehicle donation partner, Charitable Auto Resources (CARS).
A CARS representative will schedule a pickup that’s convenient for you, and provide you with an initial donor acknowledgement letter for your gift. CARS will send Jubilee a check for your donation within five business days of your vehicle’s sale. Jubilee will send you an acknowledgement letter within two weeks of receiving the donation.
It can take several weeks for a vehicle donation and sale to be completed. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact CARS to check on your donation.
You can support a woman on her final step to independent living with a contribution to Jubilee’s matched savings program. It works like this: Residents complete a money management course at Jubilee, then they open a savings account to apply what they’ve learned. If a woman consistently invests $20-100 a month without any withdrawals for 20 consecutive months, Jubilee will match her savings 1:1, giving her up to $2,000 at program completion.
Matching funds for this program are provided through the generosity of Jubilee donors. If you would like to make a donation specifically for the matched savings program or learn more, please contact us.
The Donate Now button will direct you or our donation form where you can type “Matched Savings” into the designation field. Please also select, “I would like to make this a recurring donation deducted monthly.”
If you would like to donate stock, mutual funds, or other securities to Jubilee, please download the securities gifting form. This document provides instructions for your financial institution as well as contact information for our Morgan Stanley representative. You may also email our Development Director at donations@jwcenter.org for assistance or more information.
Many of us give regularly to causes that matter to us, but few realize the impact we can have by making a gift in our will or estate plan, both for the organization we love and the people they support through their work. When you give a planned gift to Jubilee, you leave a legacy that helps lay the foundation for a woman to have a safe, stable and fulfilling future. Gifts of any size or type make a significant impact. Below are some options to consider:
Gifts of cash, stock, mutual funds or property can be left to Jubilee Women’s Center in your will or living trust. This is simple and inexpensive to set up and allows you continued use of current assets and income before you make a contribution.
Name Jubilee Women’s Center as the beneficiary for an IRA, 401k or other retirement account.
Designate Jubilee Women’s Center as a beneficiary in a life insurance policy.
A CRT gives you income for life or a fixed number of years, and you can name Jubilee Women’s Center as a beneficiary for the remaining portion.
Donate a fixed amount or percentage of proceeds from your estate sale to Jubilee Women’s Center.
Request that family and friends make memorial gifts in your honor to Jubilee Women’s Center.
Jubilee is grateful for the hands-on support we receive from the community: more than 7,000 hours last year, the equivalent of several additional staff members. Volunteers expand Jubilee’s ability to serve more women in our community, more effectively. Our volunteers are valued not only for their gift of time and service, but also as an integral part of the community of support for residents who often feel disconnected.
Jubilee has ongoing or one-time volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups, including students, service learners, interns, corporate teams, community organizations, and families. Take a look at our volunteer opportunities below to find the way you want to make a difference.
Invite your friends, family, or coworkers to provide a community meal for Jubilee residents. Community meals provide a wonderful opportunity for volunteers to help out and chat with residents over a home-cooked dinner.
Meals can be prepared off-site and transported to Jubilee or cooked here in our spacious kitchen. Your group (ideally 6 or fewer) can use our two stoves, ovens workstations, cookware, utensils and serving dishes. A staff person can give your group a tour through our facility before or after dinner. If you are unable to cook on site, you may prepare a heat-and-eat meal and drop it off for the women to enjoy on their own.
When planning a meal, keep in mind that residents appreciate proteins, fresh fruits, and vegetables, which they don’t get to enjoy as often on a limited budget. Below are some sample menu ideas:
Baked chicken, rice, vegetables, fruit salad
Pork tenderloin, macaroni & cheese, vegetables, juice
Beef stew, biscuits, salad, sliced fruit
Lasagna or spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, grapes
Connect women in the community with much-needed resources, both at Jubilee and at other community organizations. Our friendly office volunteers are the first point of contact for people calling Jubilee about housing assistance, donations, and getting involved at Jubilee. Shifts are 2-4 hours per week on weekdays.
Sort and organize donated clothing or help boutique customers shop for clothing. Last year, volunteers enabled 700 women to access free clothing at Jubilee’s boutique.
Help plan, promote, and procure auction items for our events, which raise nearly one-third of Jubilee’s annual operating budget. You can also help on the day of the event with set-up, clean-up, or greeting guests.
Help with basic home repairs and painting to keep residences safe and attractive. Or maintain our vegetable and ornamental gardens for the enjoyment of residents.
Clean and prepare bedrooms for new residents moving in to Jubilee to help them feel welcome in their new home.
Join a group of emerging leaders and philanthropists in their 20s and 30s who are making a difference by hosting benefit events and raising awareness about the work of Jubilee.
Stretch the capacity of our staff by sharing your professional skills. Current opportunities include:
Jubilee offers free courses for any low-income woman who wants to develop personally or professionally. If you have experience instructing on any of the following topics, we would love to hear from you:
Please fill out a Volunteer Application to be contacted about our next volunteer orientation. These overviews are typically scheduled each month on the 2nd Friday and 3rd Monday. At orientation, we’ll discuss a variety of opportunities for getting involved, take a tour, and talk more about our programs.
Our sincere appreciation to the corporate partners who sponsored Jubilee Women’s Center events in 2017-18. Your generosity has eased the way for more than 2,000 women on their path out of poverty and impacted homelessness in our community. Thank you for believing in the extraordinary women of Jubilee!

We welcome partnerships with businesses and organizations in our community. Joining with Jubilee provides opportunities for employee engagement and helps businesses meet corporate social responsibility goals. Ultimately, a partnership with Jubilee Women’s Center means you are a part of some amazing life transformations and making the community a better place to work and live for all.
Learn about our partnership options below.
Are you looking for a group volunteer project for your company? Group opportunities include taking care of our homes, yards, and gardens, preparing a community meal, or helping with a special project.
Host a drive for clothing, goods or gift cards at your office to benefit Jubilee women! We especially appreciate collections for our wish list items or clothing and accessories for our free boutique.
The holidays are often a difficult time for the women at Jubilee Women’s Center as many are far away or estranged from family. We encourage our community to provide gifts for the women so they can have a memorable holiday and feel supported. Your company or employees can sponsor a resident, host a holiday giving collection, or buy small gifts for each of our 43 residents.
By sponsoring a fundraising event, our corporate partners are getting valuable visibility with a philanthropic audience and helping underwrite event expenses so individual donations can fully support Jubilee’s programs. From $2,500 to $25,000, there are sponsorship options to suit a variety of budgets and objectives.
Jubilee offers employment preparation and life skills classes for Jubilee residents and other low-income women in the community. Business professionals are often needed to instruct a class or workshop, host a panel discussion, or otherwise support our educational opportunities.
If your business would like to partner with Jubilee to sponsor a profile in the Puget Sound Business Journal Giving Guide—and get a full-page ad at nonprofit rates—we want to talk.
Thank you for your interest! Please, contact our volunteer manager with any questions or to set up an employee engagement activity.
